| people dont take pictures enough. like when everyones all out together.
today i fixed my car. i got another flat tire (what is that, 6 in 3 months? fuck that) see, the problem was that some of my rims were bent so my tires were wearing in certain spots really quick. or at least thats what some shops said and some shops said they were fine and some said only 2 of them were bent and so on... so today i decided i wish sick of getting the run around so i dropped a bundle and got 4 new rims on my cars and one new tire, the tires on my car were all only 2 months old or so but i guess the one that blew had a really badly warped rim. got my oil changed got a couple things tuned up got a couple things repaired now my car is running like a champ. maybe it wont give me any problems for maybe a month straight. maybe. knock on wood.
its funny cuz the rims were the cheapest ones they had right at the shop so i didnt have to wait for them to be shipped, but they are pretty schweet. so i get to roll up in my fucking focus sedan with perfectly clear windows, james taylor bumpin and schweetass, shiny as fuck rims. so funny.
cold front on the boy front. im laying low and still making strides in changing my ways. 2 possible real quality boyfriend candidates. we will see what happens.

| “I’ve got to be there by 7:45am, it’s only 10 blocks away so that shouldn’t be a problem.”
Presumably, I should have watched the news before I left. Had I the foresight, I would have learned that twenty thousand more people than the usual daily downtown KC congestion were all attempting to converge to the same location – the Sprint Center. After twenty minutes and two blocks later I made a quick U-turn, back to my apartment I go. A call later and the idea to car pool saved something of time.
“Here’s your ticket.”
Seriously? People pay $225 to cram like sardines into a stadium so that they can listen to people talk about Leadership, Motivation and Sales Techniques? This has got to be a joke.
“Oh, you can’t bring outside food or drinks in… but if you put it in your pocket I won’t give a shit.”
A quickly drawn but awful Reagan impersonation and then a man from India who loves America and Zig Ziglar – I was not sold.
“I’m willing to put money down that every speaker today attempts to sell us their book or peddle their self improvement workshops.” "You think?"
Former Secretary of State, Colon Powell approaches the stage followed closely by 5 black suit body guards. Eye of the Tiger booms from the loudspeakers and fireworks are exploding from corners of the stage.
“Build bonds of trust,” he says.
I actually enjoyed his talk. He cracked jokes and admitted that he basically steals hot dogs from NY street vendors. Ha, ok.
Next a man who abandoned life to do Grand Canyon tour guides, my Grandpa did that for years you know… What's so bad about that? Apparently he took a group of business tycoons to near death on the rapids. His reward, a year long internship under one of the five, Warren Buffet. Weird and too good to believe? Through smart investments in the stock market he took $1,000 and turned it into a million in five years.
“Ok, I’m listening.”
Apparently, he wants me to invest $4,000 into his workshops, software and books to learn how to do it.
“I’m not listening anymore.”
A unanimous decision to skip the next speaker and get lunch was made. Chiptolte has never tasted better. Just in time as it seems, the line grew to over 100 irritated individuals five minutes after we received our food.
This sight was not near as hilarious as the Girls Gone Wild bus that slowly cruised on by. Business men in suits making cat calls... Jerry Seinfeld was really onto something, wasn’t he?
“Do you want to hear me rap about God?”
I can see this “pro America, buy my shit because I’m successful” seminar is quickly adding the "God is good God is great" national theme.
Awesome.
And yes, the white lady who is clearly upper-class wealth, claiming to be a former drug user/dealer is rapping about her spirituality and love for God. Did I mention she threw in 2pac and B.I.G. references?
“Well, let’s stick around to see Zig Zigglar at least.” “Agreed.”
They forgot to mention that in the last year, Zig Zigglar took a fall to his head and now has short term memory loss and severe vertigo. This is all in addition of his extremely elderly age of 86 years.
Basically, he was the most worthless shit of the entire day. He couldn’t stand, spoke slower than baked beans and kept repeating stories.
“Until the bible says anything about retirement, I refuse.”
Holy fucking insane.
More speakers went and my mind wandered to the extreme.
I had my fill when the speaker before Rudy Juliani got up and started his talk with the claim of a bus hitting anyone who left before he was finished.... Really? What are we in store for?
“If you don’t like America then get the hell out!”
Yep, I’m leaving. - Music:i'm your doll / mix

| I used to have a geocities or blogspot web address with images of my art. I googled everything I can think of but can't find anything... hrm. | |
|
| I suppose I'm done with the front cover of the up.River art. I don't feel like it's done... it needs something more. Tonight.
I slept through my alarm for two fucking hours this morning. Seriously?
The dialog in No Country For Old Men makes me want to reincarnate myself as some old timer cowboy.
"Alright then. Two of 'em. Both had my father in 'em . It's peculiar. I'm older now then he ever was by twenty years. So in a sense he's the younger man. Anyway, first one I don't remember to well but it was about meeting him in town somewhere, he's gonna give me some money. I think I lost it. The second one, it was like we was both back in older times and I was on horseback goin' through the mountains of a night. Goin' through this pass in the mountains. It was cold and there was snow on the ground and he rode past me and kept on goin'. Never said nothin' goin' by. He just rode on past... and he had his blanket wrapped around him and his head down and when he rode past I seen he was carryin' fire in a horn the way people used to do and I could see the horn from the light inside of it. 'Bout the color of the moon. And in the dream I knew that he was goin' on ahead and he was fixin' to make a fire somewhere out there in all that dark and all that cold, and I knew that whenever I got there he would be there. And then I woke up. "

| So, I got pretty far on the upRiver art. I think I like it... I need to go over it a couple of times and then I'll decide. The front is almost done, and the back shouldn't take too long. After, I just need to get them in image format and add the logos. Soooooooon Trevor, soon!
This weekend was productive and fairly good.
I'm going to some Motivational/Management seminar at the Spring Center on Wednesday. Colon Powell is speaking at it? Hahaha. Hm.
Next FRIDAY! My best friend and favorite little person is coming to KC with brother Tyson. Tyson goes back to Salt Lake the Sunday following and then Todd will be out the day after Thanksgiving. I think Alden and I are going to Ryan &Jen's for Thanksgiving. It won't be anything close to Thanksgiving with Mom but it should be a good time nonetheless.
Then, there is a little something awesome on December 5th to look forward to.
|
| Today is and will be a good day.
I woke up, made a large breakfast and watched The OC for a minute. Taylor Townsend is an evil cunt and made me want to turn the TV off so I decided to work on the upRiver project. I sat and looked at the references I have and the notes I've scribbled on what I want to do. After contemplating for a bit, I decided that I wanted to use Gesso. It's been years since I've played with that stuff, I forgot how fun it is! As I wait for it to dry, I came to work for a bit and am going to run some errands. I want to go to a couple of thrift stores and find some records, pants and maybe a big warm cardigan. I also need to run to the grocery store.
I'm really excited to get back home and paint. I'm happy to finally get back into the swing of things.
Todd and Alden arrive in less than two weeks.
Life is good. | |
